Beautiful Collectible Vintage Barristers Seal Hammer Brass Snakewood Ceremonial

Beautiful vintage hammer. It may be a "seal" hammer - used by barrister's for breaking the seal on documents. The head is brass and in the shape of what looks like a roadrunner. It is quite detailed, and in excellent condition.  The head measures 3" wide. The handle is also in excellent, beautiful condition. I'm not sure what wood it is - but has a tiger looking print. I was recently told it could be snakewood. It is amazingly smooth with a wonderful patina. Its' length from butt to the head is is approximately 7 1/2". The handle has the slightest wobble - and I mean the slightest wobble in the head. Weight is 5.4 oz.
