    Description

    Britannia Hanoverian Spoon created by John Holland I of London in 1721
    A beautifully heavy spoon created during the reign of George II (1714 - 1727) by John Holland I.
    The spoon has an oval-shaped bowl, wide profiled rat tail, and a split rounded end turning up toward the bowl, when it is facing up.
    On reverse handle is engraved the
    monograms
    OH+S.
    Dimensions:  L  8-1/8" Weight: 2.1 Oz.
    In very nice condition.
    Apprenticed to Lawrence Coles 08 July 1703. Free, 02 August 1710.  First Mark entered as largeworker, 23 November 1711. Second mark entered 02 July 1720. (Grimwade, pg 549)

    HO - markers mark of John Holland I, registered in 1720
