This exceptional George V s
terling silver gallery tray
has an oval form.
The surface of this impressive tea tray is plain and unembellished.
The hallmarked galleried border is embellished with pierced vertical pale ornamentation accented with floral medallions and urn designs, all conjoined with a bud style swag.
The undulating upper rim of the galleried border is encompassed with a band of applied tied reed decoration.
This impressive sterling silver gallery tray incorporates an arched handle to either end, accented with a continuation of applied tied reed ornamentation to the upper portion in addition to an incurved design to the centre of each handpiece.
This galleried tray is supported by four impressive Regency style paw feet.

antique
silver tray with handles is an exceptional heavy gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The tray has its original patina.  Some surface scratches, light from careful use.  This has never been machine polished!  The most coveted original condition.

struck to the underside of the base and full hallmarks to the gallery are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
