One Leather Strop Block 8”x2.5" (perfect size for most all pocket knives and hand tools), with Smooth and Suede Sides. Every strop is American Hand Made in South Florida from the highest quality materials all made in the United States Of America. Our Natural Veg tanned premium leather comes from one of the oldest tanneries in America! The solid premium pine wood is harvested locally and plained perfectly flat for precision sharpening.
Our work shop prides itself on doing things “the old fashioned way” with all hand tools. We do everything with elbow grease, from hand sawing, plaining and sanding the Pine Wood to precisely beveling each piece of leather to insure a true craftsman finish.
Our leather is “Veg” tanned so there is absolutely no concern of chemicals causing tool damage like rust. The weight of our leather provides the right amount of ruggedness to last years of use but also is soft and delicate enough to create a razors edge on your desired sharpening object. Whether it’s a pocket knife, straight razor, chisel or any other hand tool when properly used our strops will produce a beautiful razor sharp polished edge.
Each strop block has a smooth side and a suede side of leather securely fastened with industrial strength cement. The suede side is designed to be used first with your choice of compound. Then run a few laps on the smooth side to finish straightening the micro burr to a brilliantly polished finished edge. Make sure to hold an even and consistent angle with the blade of your knife while stropping and minimal pressure produces the best results. These strop create a scary sharp edge so be very careful.
All strops are individually unique and the photos in this listing are examples only. Each piece of leather has different characteristics and no one piece is the same. The measurements of each strop is plus or minus 1/8” and the leather thickness may vary slightly from one strop to the next.
