    Description

    George III English Silver Punch Ladle - 1805 by George Thurkle
    Silver Punch ladle with whale bone twisted handle.  Created by George Thurkle during the reign of George III (1760 -1820).  Oval bowls were starting in 1780.
    According to Grimwade, George Thurkle, entered his first mark in 1800 as a small-wares worker.  Second mark was entered in 1821. (Grimwade, Pg. 682)
    Monogrammed
    with a gothic "G" on the bowl.

    Maker's Mark - "GT" George Thurkle
    Lion Passant - mark that the silver content is 92.5% (Sterling)
