Good English PRINCE ALBERT Pattern Cased 3 PIECE YOUTH SET-AH, Sheffield-1842-43

Description

For sale is a fine quality English sterling PRINCE ALBERT pattern three piece youth set in its original box, maker AH, Sheffield, 1842-43. The knife is 6 7/8 inches long, the fork is 5 3/4 inches, and the spoon is 6 inches.  The knife and fork have hollow handles and engraved blade and tines.  The set is monogrammed “FWR” on the handles.  The pieces have a maker’s mark of [AH] with full Sheffield hallmarks for 1842-43.  The set comes in its original red velvet fitted case with white satin lining and brown leather cover.
Condition on the set is quite good.  The pieces have normal wear from use but most of the decoration is crisp.  The box has minor wear and still closes well.  A fine antique child’s set!
