    Description

This ebay fixed price auction provides a custom assembled tool modification and tune up kit for Ingersoll Rand 2131 tools. I provide a new 7-vane rotor with a complete 2131 tune up kit and new trigger. This kit is for the owners of IR2131 tools to make their tool increase breakaway nut busting torque in both forward and reverse direction to the same operating performance characteristics of an Ingersoll Rand 2135TiMAX tool.
The Ingersoll Rand print and parts sheet is included for part identification, parts orientation and final assembly.
This kit and the parts I supply as shown fit IR model 2131 tools. The rotor and vanes when installed make your 2131 tool into a 2135TiMAX without changing: the tool housing, anvil, cylinder, front end plate or hammer case unit.
The 2131 tool has 6-vane rotor. The 2135TiMAX uses a 7-vane rotor and which adds probably 50 to 150 foot pounds in reverse and about 75 foot pounds in forward drive position. The real and actual torque output numbers vary on this due to the nature of: existing tool parts fitment, all internal air tool leakage, operating (regulated) air pressure to the tool, your air hose system's internal condition, your supply hose ID and the properly maintained distance (steel piping diameter and ID) from the compressor air receiver. The reason why impact tools have higher torque ratings in reverse than forward is explained thusly. It takes more torque (higher numbers and heavier impacts per second) to stretch a steel fastener and the threads which hold it to the limit of tensile strength than it does to release (in reverse position) the stress of the tensile strain on a fastener.
My auction photo shows 6 vanes laying in front of the 7 vane rotor. Looking at the rotor you will see the 7th vane that I placed blue ink on. This was to show the perfect quality fitment of the vanes I supply with this unique eBay offering.
*Contrary to popular misconceptions I read from eBay emails, Ingersoll Rand makes several different rotor vane designs which all fit their: 231, 2131 and 2135 models. Vanes with notches and without notches simply do not matter how they are matched or mixed on their tools. They all fit and interchange perfectly. They all work in any combination and they is no specific single way that rotor vanes have to match to work. The flat vane edge must the cylinder. This is all that is required to work. You don't have to have vanes made only by Ingersoll Rand to work on these tools either. The patents and designs have been around for over 50 years.
The package shipping weight is 1 pound via Priority Air Mail. International orders are shipped from the ebay Global Shipping Center for extra confiscatory monies (that I do not benefit from financially).
