    Description

Nice small sauce or gravy boat dating to the reign of George II.  Made by David Hennell in London 1754-55.  Pretty repousse work and lovely little hoof feet.  No repairs.  Full length is 5" .  Width of bowl 3" and length of bowl itself 4.5".  Weighs 134.2 grams, so is nice and heavy.  -- This is too intricate for a creamer and too large for a butter boat, so it simply is just an individual sauce boat.  Lovely, honest piece.
The maker's mark is to be found in The Book of Old Silver by Wyler in the center column of p. 157.
