Vintage Stanley No. 2C V Logo Iron Rare!

$ 224.4

Description

This listing is for a very rare Stanley No. 2C corrugated bottom plane with a V or Victory logo iron.  The plane was disassembled and given a very light cleaning to check for condition.  The casting is in excellent condition with most of the original japanning intact.  There are a few small/shallow dimples on the right cheek and there is a partial crack at the bottom of the knob as shown in the closeup pictures.
No. 2 planes don't follow the normal type study rules, but this is clearly an earlier example.  The number is not cast into the bed, it has a low knob, the lever cap does not have a logo and the lateral adjustment lever has only a Stanley logo.   The iron has the V logo or Victory logo which was in use from 1912 to 1918.
This is a unique opportunity to own one of the rarest of all Stanley planes - some say more rare than the No. 1!
Please review all of the pictures as they are an important part of the description.  Feel free to message me with questions - I'm happy to help!
